I met Benny on the internet
and we went on our first date on February 17, 2006. We had dinner at
the Mardi Gras restaurant on Austin St and watched the Pink Panther at
The Midway Cinemas in Forest Hills, Queens, NY. He was a total gentleman
then and still now, 3 years later.
A destination beach
Wedding.
We've
both always dreamed of a beach wedding, being that we're both
"beach bums". I bought my Pronovias wedding gown at Botticelli's in
Bronxville, NY.
For him and the boys we chose the
Guayabera shirts because we wanted to give it a Latin "touch".
(Guayaberas are very popular in Latin America also known as Mexican
Wedding Shirts).
We were
searching for a 5 star, adults-only, all-inclusive resort and always
wanted to explore Mexico. The wedding was magical. The weather that day
was the best for that week. It was previously raining all week, the week
before our arrival.
When we
arrived it was hazy, hot, and humid. By Saturday, the 4th of July it was
sunny, dry, and not a cloud in the sky. Except for one bright white
cloud over Benny's head which I told Benny was his Mom watching over him
from heaven.

After the
ceremony, we danced our first dance to my favorite song on the playlist,
Experiencia Religiosa by Enrique Iglesias right on the beach. The first
song that was played for the toast immediately after the ceremony right
on the beach, was Benny's favorite song, All that I need. by Jack
Wagner, Both songs were randomly chosen by the DJ after we told him to
play whatever song came on. It was magical, it was "una experiencia
religiosa".

I apologize for not getting this email to you sooner, but I figured better
late than never! I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your excellent
customer service and your selection of shirts. I was very concerned about
not finding the right shirt for both my soon to be husband (Terry) and the
men in the wedding.
 We
already had the girls’ shirts, and color matching was very important to me.
Not only that, Terry had specifics on what type of shirt he wanted. He was a
little hesitant when I first showed him the pic of the shirt I got for him
from you. But once it came in the mail and he tried it on, he knew it was
PERFECT!
Your shirts were a perfect match! We could not believe
how perfectly they matched the girls’ tanks. I just knew I was going to have
two different shades of blue up there – but I didn’t! They went so well with
the turquoise waters of Mexico! I attached pics so you could see how well
they turned out. The guys loved them! They continue to wear them after the
wedding, and even their wives wear them from time to time. They were happy
to be able to have a wedding outfit that they CAN wear after the wedding.
Once again, thank you so much for everything! If I ever hear of anyone who
needs a good guayabera shirt, I will definitely point them to you!

The guayabera, Mexican shirt or most
commonly called the “wedding shirt”, is the perfect and ideal
shirt for your wedding. The guayabera shirt gives you
the freshness, the comfort and best of all the elegance that you require.
The shirt is light, classy and you wear it outside the trousers allowing for
easy movement and comfort ability. The guayabera shirt is a
tropical shirt therefore is a perfect match for this special event. Because
of its casual look, you can also wear the guayabera shirt in
your honeymoon or thereafter, creating a multiple use for a piece of
clothing that in a regular wedding you either rent or store the wedding
attire it your closet.
The history of the guayabera shirt
The guayabera shirt is been around for
the past 200 years. The guayabera shirt has been worn by
presidents, dignitaries and in many numerous weddings and different
celebrations all around the world. The guayabera shirt has a
loose style, and as a result it can be worn by all shapes and sizes. These
crisp, cool shirts are fresh, light, and flattering to any body type.
How’s the guayabera designed:
 The
craftsmanship and details of a guayabera shirt is what makes this shirt so
classy and fashionable. Amongst the details that
give the guayabera its classic look are: two or four patch
pockets and two vertical rows of alforzas (fine, tiny
little pleats, usually 10,
sewn closely together) running along the front and back of the
guayabera. Also, the top of each pocket is usually adorned with a
matching shirt
button, as are tops and the bottoms of the alforza pleats.
At the bottom hem of each side of the guayabera
there’s a slid with two buttons. Guayabera is the
typical Cuban shirt representing the Cuban culture. The origin of the name
came from a legend , which tells about a poor country wife that would sew
large pockets in her husbands’ shirt for him to carry guava (guayaba in
Spanish) fruit home thus given it the name
guayabera (guayaba= guayabera )

What fabric should the wedding guayabera be?
- Linen is the best fabric (Irish or Chinese linen)
Irish linen, its fabric is soft and made
from the highest quality linen. It’s a strong texture, yet soft and
comfortable. Stylish in design and it can be worn for many different
occasions, especially for a beach wedding.
The
Irish linen material craftsmanship is the highest
linen fabric: linen is made from the flax fiber.
Chinese Linen is also a
popular fabric of choice because of its affordability. Chinese linen is less
expensive because of the craftsmanship of the fabric.
